General Membership Meeting Minutes
September 27, 2007

The meeting was called to order at 4:36 pm with 47members present.

 All officers were present.

 The minutes from the previous meting were suspended via motion

 The treasurer’s report was suspended via a motion.

 Recognition of new members –

There were no new members sworn in.

Reports of accidents sickness and death –

Ken Kraus wife passed.

Bill Weidimier was injured on the job.

John Mccalums wife passed.

President’s report –

The President’s grievance summary is as follows –

  • Grievance for discharged employee was heard on the 10th.
  • 2 sick time issue grievances scheduled for 10/02
  • Vacation time grievance denied
  • Dearborn special conference on uniforms 9/13.

Arbitration summary -

Discipline issue is scheduled for October 12th

 Other business –

  • LTD forms available. For about  $25 per month to cover full salary (after 4 years You are automatically enrolled).
  • Continue to hear about managers out watching people.
  • Open enrollment in October 8-19th. Consider an FSA.
  • Jack and Ken attended the ACLC. Leo settled their contract 3 yr contract.
  • Plant Operations meeting. Discussed conflict of interest and conflict of commitment, you shouldn’t have to sign a form acknowledging this.
  • Shops should have steward’s elections in October before the Membership meeting.

Committee reports –

Scholarship committee –

There are still quilt tickets available.

Safety committee –

Planning and design is putting in a sidewalk behind plant building. The hope is to stop ice from being a trip factor.

 Unfinished business –

Keith O’Neil purchased some photo albums for the pictures from the scholarship awards.

New business –

 

  • There was a motion to reimburse Jack and Brent for vacation day and mileage. Used to attend the vendor clothing conference. The motion was seconded the motion passed.
  • There was a motion to have a big buck contest. The top three get a jacket everyone else gets choice of a t-shirt hat or mug. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.
  • Nominations for officers – We will need a judge and 4 referees.

The hours are from 10 to 6 pm.

Good of the Union –

Jacket Giveaway – number 140 David Enz was present and was the winner of the jacket.

Adjournment –
