The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm with 32 members present.
All officers were present.
The minutes from the previous meeting were suspended via a motion.
The treasurer’s report was suspended via a motion.
Recognition of new Members –
There were no new members sworn in.

President’s report –
Grievance summary:
The president’s grievance summary is as follows –
- 6 construction services OT grievances were heard on 6/29. Those should be settled.
- Zone carpenter was heard on 8/2
- Hospital OT was heard on 8/2
- Pay notice was heard on 8/6
- Painter Contractor special conference was heard on 8/6
- Sheet metal was heard on 8/14
- Grievance for discharged employee that was discharged scheduled for 8/31
- 2 sick time grievances filed
- Vacation day take back filed.
Arbitration summary -
Temporary /Contractor arbitration was denied.
Other Business –
Other business under the president’s report –
- SHPS Debit card. Save your receipts periodic audits.
- Report all payroll issues.
- Members need to be careful where they are with their trucks. Don’t leave early management is watching.
- Nominations for officers are next month at the general membership meeting.
Committee reports-
Safety committee– The safety committee reported they discussed the use of I-pods, cell phones other distracting devices while you are working.
Scholarship committee – reported the Quilt raffle is October 25 and the ticket price is $10.00 per ticket.
Unfinished business –
Bonnie Marttilla and Keith Brunson were here from HR to discuss Long term Disability.
New Business –
There was no new business to discuss.
Good Of the Union –
$4800.00 was raised for Sam Rochons family from the fundraiser.
Retirements – It was reported that Dean Shuey
Jim Carlson and Wayne Hartman.
The number 150 was drawn and Richard fellker wasn’t present.20 more dollars will go into the pocket.
