General Membership Meeting Minutes
June 28, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm with 46 members present.
All officers were present.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and corrections were made.
Recognition of new members –
• There were 2 members sworn in.
Reports of accidents sickness and death –
It was reported that -
• Markus Scott’s mother in law passed
• John Berkley’s sister in law passed.
• Joel Morrison’s brother in law passed.
Scholarship awards –
Scholarships were awarded at the June meeting.
There were 9 awarded.
President’s report –
Grievance summary under the Presidents report
-
• Harassment employee was heard and was (denied).
• Harassment steward heard (denied) followed up with
meeting.
• 5 construction services O T grievances scheduled for
6/29
• Dearborn work boot grievance granted.
Arbitration summary –
The President’s arbitration summary is as follows -
• Season days –(settled).
• Temporary employees – we are still waiting on
an answer.
• ULP over representation problems. Pretrial conference
scheduled for July 10th.
Other business-
Other business under the President’s report –
• LTD attentively scheduled for July meeting.
• Electric shop- re-organization Ted Hayman will be
the new alternate steward.
• John Nichols was appointed to the e-Board.
• SHPS cards should have come in the mail. Save your
receipts.
• Pringle retirement - Bruce sent a thank you email.
Committee reports –
The scholarship committee reported that $240.00 from the golfers
50/50 went to the scholarship fund.
Apprentice committee – reported they are doing their
top ten interviews.
Unfinished Business -
Golf committee thanks for great job organizing the golf outing.
New Business –
Mark Worsack wants to put on a benefit pig roast for Sam Rochon who is off fighting cancer. There will be a $20.00 donation for union members and $25.00 for non -members. Mark is looking for volunteers to help him out. The proposed date will be August 11th from 3-9 pm in Belleville see mark for details.
Also looking for a donation from the union to
pay for the hall.
There was a motion to donate $250.00 to help fund the pig
roast.
The motion was seconded and the motion passed.

The drawing for the jacket was held and number 38 was drawn. Carl Bieske was number 38 Carl was present and received the jacket.
