When are the meetings held?

Steward/Trade Board meetings are held every third Thursday of the month at 4:30 PM. General Membership meetings are held every fourth Thursday of the month at 4:30 PM.

 

Where are the meetings held?

In the meeting hall of the Electricians Local 252 and Plumbers Local 190, 7920 Jackson Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103

 

Do we do any hiring?

NO. The University of Michigan Employment Services receives the applications when there is an open position. They are located on the ground floor of Wolverine Towers, 3003 S. State St., Ann Arbor, MI. 48109.

 

What type of work do your members perform?

The University of Michigan was founded in 1817. There are many historical buildings on campus of which our members not only maintain but also have the skills and ability to restore the historical design integrity of these facilities.

 

We perform every aspect of building trades work, including:

 

Telecommunications for voice, data and video.

 

Heavy equipment work on small and larger projects, water main breaks.

 

Install and maintain lighting on campus, keep the water running and the toilets flushing.

 

Carpenters build and remodel.

 

Painters decorate and keep the buildings presentable.

 

Maintain the miles of tunnels that run electrical and steam service to the buildings on campus.

 

Industrial Electricians perform preventive maintenance and repair on medical equipment for the Hospital and Health Clinics.

 

Our members provide 24 hours, 7 days weekly coverage for maintenance, repair and emergency work for the Hospital.
