General Membership Meeting

November 16, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm with 24 members present.

The minutes from the previous meeting were read and accepted.

The treasurer’s report was read and accepted.

All officers were present.

Recognition of new members –

There was 1 new member sworn in

Reports of accidents sickness and death –

It was reported that-

Quinton Branham daughter passed.

Presidents Report –

The presidents Grievance summary is as follows –

• CV Plumber worked. Heard
• MM changing ballasts at the hospital. Heard
• Refusal to pay on-call. Denied and submitted.
• CV Painter OT filed.
• CV Mason worked, overtime not turned in filed.

Arbitrations under the presidents report –

• Proper remedy for ballast violation 10/23
• CS CV electricians worked without steward input. 2/2/18.
• Discharge date May 8th
• On-call April 11. Oncall pay.

Other Business under the president’s report –

• Hospital interstitial / confined spaces Special conference held 10/25. Labeled confined spaces. Walk through completed and further discussion to be held
• Continuing issues with FA testing. MM’s not trained mm jamming up jobs.
• Meeting with the University December 11th to discuss BMET’s a couple of e-board meetings to prepare before.
• Its overlap with electricians.
• Fsa can still be set up until end of the year regardless of closed open enrollment.

Committee reports –

• Safety Committee – nothing to report
• Apprenticeship committee – nothing to report

Unfinished Business –

Office purchase came in under budget. Exact amount to be reported later. 

New Business –

Need motion for Xmas party and secretary bonuses. There was a motion to suspend all regular business except emergency business and have a Christmas party in place. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.

There was a motion to give the secretaries a Christmas bonus same amount as last year. The motion was seconded and the motion passed.

Good of the union –

The jacket drawing was held and number 128 not was present so $20.00 more goes into the pocket.
